How to deal with invitees who quit.
In MLM and Network Marketing you will meet people who enthusiastically join the opportunity but get ‘cold’ as time go by. That is way it is important to have an email list so that you can continue sending support and inspirational messages to people you invited.
People quit program even if they invested a substantial amounts. This is an inevitable fact of life. l worked for years promoting a free affiliate marketing course which many people joined buy they never completed their profiles. You send them emails which they never open.
I make money online because ‘newbies’ don’t take action. Yes, l have sold digital products that people buy but NEVER download… HUH!
So, if you are experienced in promoting MLM products this resonate with you. If you are new, soon you will tell me that you have met such people.
Now you are wondering how you can tell if people are no longer interested….
Signs that people want to quit.
- They don’t open emails or worse still, they unsubscribe from your list.
- Ignore Facebook messages even if they are active and posting profile updates. May unfriend you.
- You are answered by a generic voice mail when you phone.
- Cancel membership without informing you.
- You learn from grape vine that they are bad mouthing your products and opportunity if you invited them through network marketing.
Why People Quit MLM.
They wanted a discount – most MLms offer distributors products at whole sale prices or discounted prices which attracts people who do not want to grow the business.
Wanted to stop being bothered – they wanted their peace so they wanted a one off sale to keep you away.
Didn’t want to hurt you – yes loved ones and work mates are soft targets because they find it difficult to say no, so they accept the invitation.
Don’t want to hurt or disappoint you – related to the above, they avoid you because they don’t want to tell you in your face that they are not interested.
Ignoring and avoiding you is the easiest way to quit – yeah, they don’t want to be bothered with explaining why they are leaving after paying to join and you will lecture them on why they must stay.
They read a negative review – there are affiliate programs which teach people to bash MLMs and recommend their own programs.
Did you tell them the truth – l have found out that people who know the truth about ‘MLM business model’ are likely to stay than people who just think they are joining to enjoy a discount then get paid if by chance they recruit others.
They did not receive suitable training – maybe its their first to market products. They needed newbie friendly training to get started the correct way.
They got screwed up by the company – yes, there are companies which fail to deliver the ordered products on time, and in the correct quantities. Some delay in paying distributors which forces people to quit.
They are introverts – there are people who are generally shy and they can not stand the heat. So, they get out of the kitchen – quit.
Don’t Take It Personal – It’s Life.
Yes, don’t take it personally. They are NOT rejecting you, but the business or opportunity. If you manage to get in touch with them, listen to their story and see if you can help. If you can’t or they still want to quit — let go! Promoting MLM products and the opportunity is a challenge and it requires people with the right attitude. You would rather spend more time helping people who want to stay and they are asking for support. Cats will never enjoy swimming.
Thank them for accepting your invitation and tell them that you respect their decision to quit. Inform them that, your relations are not in a way affected by their change of heart. Assure them that you will offer them support if they decide to reconsider rejoining your team. NEVER talk again about your opportunity EVER unless they initiate the conversation.
Every one can be a Network Marketer, BUT not everyone will.
